As we stated in our report there is a global and national data gap on IPV in the LGBTQ+ community, at the bottom of this document we have outlined a number of recommendations on how this data and research gap can be filled.

Recommendations 

  • LGBTQ+ organisations are trained in evidence based research and data collection in order to collect robust community generated data.
  • LGBTQ+ organisations are trained in digital security and data management in order to keep data accessible, anonymous, safe and secure. 
  • LGBTQ+ organisations are provided hard and software support to ensure that data collection can be efficient and secure. 
  • Closer collaboration amongst LGBTQ+ organisations to conduct joint research and collect data that reflects the full LGBTQ+ experience. 
  • Increase in funding to conduct larger evidence based research projects that are inclusive of all LGBTQ+ personsfrom across different backgrounds, identities and social-economic statuses. .
